A collision facility with a fabrication shop, two paint booths and 35,000 square feet under roof can do a great deal that is not collision repair. This category is where that work lives.
Custom fabrication builds things that do not exist yet: bumpers, racks, storage systems, compartments and full interior conversions. Detailing and reconditioning restores surfaces that are sound but tired. Inspection and evaluation produces documents rather than repairs, and every inspection is performed here at the shop rather than in a parking lot.
What kind of custom work does an RV facility actually build?
The work divides into structural and functional. Structural means bumpers, receivers, headache racks, roof racks and mounting for equipment, all of which have to attach to the vehicle frame or to reinforced structure rather than to skin. Functional means storage systems, cargo shelving, compartment builds and full interior conversions for camper, work and mobile business use.
The reason this belongs in a collision facility rather than a general fabrication shop is that vehicle fabrication carries constraints a stationary fabricator never confronts. Weight matters because it consumes payload. Mounting matters because a coach sidewall is a laminated panel and will not carry a bracket load. Corrosion matters because dissimilar metals in contact on a vehicle that gets wet will fail at the joint. We deal with those constraints daily on repair work.

Why does detailing a recreational vehicle cost more than a car?
Surface area and surface condition. A 40 foot coach has roughly six to eight times the exterior area of a sedan and much of it is oxidized gelcoat rather than modern clear coat. Gelcoat is a sacrificial layer designed to chalk so the laminate underneath does not, and once it has chalked it requires compounding rather than polishing.
Height is the other factor. Everything above about six feet requires scaffolding or a lift, which slows every stage. That is why detail work is billed at the posted $95 per hour rate against real hours rather than sold as a flat package that quietly assumes a small vehicle in good condition.
Are inspections performed at your facility or elsewhere?
Every inspection is performed at our Yorba Linda facility at 23281 La Palma Ave. We do not perform field or fleet route inspection work of any kind.
That is a deliberate choice rather than a limitation. A serious inspection needs lifts to see underneath, power and water hookups to run systems, moisture meters used under controlled conditions, and time. A walk around in a seller driveway with a flashlight cannot produce the same document, and pretending otherwise does buyers a disservice.
Pre purchase inspections are published at $400 to $1,200 across 3 to 6 labor hours and produce a written systems report. Arranging for a seller to bring the vehicle here is the buyer responsibility, and most sellers who are confident in their vehicle agree readily.

Do you build custom work on vehicles you did not repair?
Yes. Fabrication, conversion and storage work is booked independently of any repair. Custom fabrication and build out is published at $2,500 to $50,000 and up across 20 to 250 labor hours depending on scope.
What is the detail labor rate?
Detail work is posted at $95 per hour, which is separate from the $210 body and paint rate and the $260 mechanical rate. Paint correction and ceramic coating quote against real hours at that rate.
Can you inspect a vehicle located out of the area?
The vehicle has to come to our Yorba Linda facility. We do not travel to vehicles. Inspection quality depends on lifts, hookups and controlled conditions that only exist in a shop.
