Our Process and Real Timelines

A repair runs through seven stages from intake to delivery. Shop hours and calendar days are different things, because carrier approval and parts lead time sit between the working stages. Most moderate claims run three to six weeks and structural claims run six to sixteen.

The question every customer asks is how long, and the honest answer requires explaining something first. A sixty hour repair is not eight days.

Sixty hours is the working time. The calendar includes carrier approval, supplement approval, parts lead time and paint cure, none of which we can compress and none of which shows up on the labor line.

Where do the days actually go?

On a typical structural claim, roughly forty percent of the calendar is waiting on someone else. Carrier authorization, supplement review, and parts on caps, glass and structural components that are frequently built to order.

That is why we give a stage breakdown rather than a single date. Knowing which stage you are in tells you whether the answer is with us or with your carrier, and it is a far more useful thing to know than a date that then moves.

How long does each service type take?

It varies enormously by category, so here are realistic ranges rather than one number.

  • Minor collision, single panel, no structure: 5 to 12 business days
  • Moderate collision with a cap or sidewall section: 3 to 6 weeks
  • Structural collision with frame correction: 6 to 16 weeks
  • Full vehicle refinish: 3 to 6 weeks, cure time sets the floor
  • Delamination, mapped and dried before relamination: 2 to 8 weeks
  • Roof recoat and reseal: 3 to 8 business days
  • Full roof membrane replacement: 2 to 5 weeks
  • Slide out mechanism service: 3 to 10 business days
  • Slide room structural rebuild: 2 to 5 weeks
  • Full interior remodel: 4 to 16 weeks depending on scope
  • Fleet unit, body and paint, staged: 1 to 4 weeks per unit

What can make it take longer?

Four things, in order of frequency. Supplement approval on a claim with staged discovery. Parts on a discontinued or built to order component. Moisture that has to be driven out of a structure before anything can be bonded to it. And carrier reinspection requests.

Only the third one is within our control, and drying a wet panel properly is not something to rush. Bonding to a wet substrate guarantees the repair fails, so that time gets taken whether or not it is convenient.

Our Process and Timeline

Shop hours and calendar days are different things. These are the stages and the realistic duration of each.

  1. 01

    Intake and documentation

Vehicle photographed inside and out, aftermarket work itemized, reference measurements taken before anything is touched.

    1 day
  2. 02

    Estimate and submission

Written estimate against posted rates. On a claim it goes to your carrier with documentation attached.

    1 to 2 days
  3. 03

    Authorization

Carrier authorizes scope and, critically, teardown. On customer pay work this is your written approval.

    2 to 5 days
  4. 04

    Teardown and discovery

Assemblies come off. Hidden damage is exposed, photographed and measured. Supplement submitted with evidence.

    3 to 9 days
  5. 05

    Parts and structural work

Parts ordered. Frame or structural correction performed and re measured to confirm factory tolerance.

    5 to 30 days
  6. 06

    Body, paint and reassembly

Panel work, refinish in a 65 foot downdraft booth, reassembly with new seals rather than reused ones.

    5 to 25 days
  7. 07

    Quality control and delivery

Multi point inspection, ADAS recalibration where equipped, final measurement record, delivery with documentation.

    1 to 3 days

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the calendar so much longer than the labor hours?

Because carrier approval, supplement review, parts lead time and paint cure all sit between the working stages. On a structural claim roughly forty percent of the calendar is waiting on someone other than us.

Will you tell me if it is running late?

Yes, and which stage it is stuck in. Knowing whether the delay is a supplement, a part or our scheduling is more useful than a revised date.

Can I visit the vehicle during the repair?

Yes, by arrangement. An active shop floor has real hazards so it is not a walk in, but seeing your own vehicle mid teardown is often the moment the supplement makes sense.

Do you work on multiple stages at once?

Where the sequence allows. Structural correction has to complete before skin goes back on and paint has to cure before reassembly, so some of the order is fixed by physics rather than scheduling.
