Recreational Vehicle Repair in Yorba Linda

The word RV covers vehicles that share almost no engineering. A diesel pusher on a Spartan chassis and a folding camper on a two thousand pound frame are both recreational vehicles, and the only thing they have in common is that people sleep in them. Pricing, repair method and failure pattern all track construction, not category name.

What actually separates one RV type from another?
Three things: the chassis, the sidewall lamination, and whether the unit is self propelled. A Class A gas coach sits on a Ford F53 rail chassis. A Class B sits on a Mercedes Sprinter or Ford Transit cab chassis with factory driver assist systems. A fifth wheel has no chassis of its own beyond a ladder frame and a pin box, and a folding camper barely has a sidewall at all.
Those differences decide the repair. Panel damage on a Transit based Class B involves a factory body shell, factory parts and post repair camera calibration. The same damage on a fifth wheel involves a bonded laminate panel with no factory equivalent, which means either a section repair or a full panel fabrication.

Why does construction decide the price?
Published collision work on motorhomes runs $1,000 to $150,000 and up across 5 to 800 or more labor hours. On towables the same line reads $750 to $50,000 across 5 to 250 hours. That is not a discount for towables, it is a reflection of how much vehicle sits behind the damage.
Water damage shows the same effect. Delamination on a motorhome runs $1,500 to $20,000 and 10 to 100 hours. On a camper or fifth wheel it runs $750 to $18,000 and 5 to 80 hours. A unit built on Azdel composite substrate frequently lands at the bottom of those bands because the substrate did not absorb water. A lauan built unit of the same age lands at the top because the plywood core rotted and took the framing with it.
How do insurance claims differ across RV types?
Carriers price motorhome claims off automotive estimating systems that have no line for a bonded laminate sidewall, and they price towable claims off replacement cost tables that assume factory parts still exist. Both assumptions break on older and modified units.
The fix is documentation before teardown. We photograph and itemize aftermarket work, take dimensional readings, and submit supplements with evidence attached. On vintage and heavily converted units we also recommend confirming whether your policy is written on agreed value or actual cash value, because that single line decides whether a total loss determination is a negotiation or a formality.

Do you repair every type of recreational vehicle?

How big a vehicle can your shop take?
Our two paint booths are 65 feet and heated with downdraft airflow, which covers any legal length coach or fifth wheel plus the tow vehicle. The 35,000 square foot shop holds multiple 45 foot units under roof at once.
What does an estimate cost?
Collision estimates are prepared in shop and insurance walk ins are welcome. An RV systems estimate covering slides, awnings, water, electrical and generator is $150, refundable as a credit against an authorized repair. In depth diagnostics run one hour at $285, also refundable as a credit.
Which RV types cost the most to repair per hour?
The rate is the same across all of them. Body and paint is $210 per hour, mechanical and electrical is $260, diagnostics is $285 and detail is $95. What changes between vehicle types is the hour count, not the rate.
Can you work on a unit that is no longer in production?
Yes. Discontinued brands are a large share of the work here. When a panel, cap or trim piece no longer exists we fabricate it, which is why bus conversions, vintage coaches and orphaned brands are routine rather than exceptional.
