RAM ProMaster Repair in Yorba Linda
OCRV Center repairs RAM ProMaster vans and ProMaster based conversions at our Yorba Linda facility. The ProMaster is a front wheel drive unibody van with a wide flat body, and roof penetration leaks plus conversion refit are the recurring work.
The ProMaster is the value platform in the camper van market and it earns that position. Front wheel drive means a low flat floor and a wide body, which is why so many conversions use it.
It also means the structure and the repair approach are different from a Sprinter, and the flat roof with its many conversion penetrations is where the problems concentrate.
What is different about a ProMaster?
Front wheel drive on a unibody, with a wide flat body and near vertical sidewalls. That geometry is what conversions like, and it means the panels are large flat expanses that show damage and repair quality clearly.
The roof is flat and it is where conversions mount solar, fans, racks and antennas. Every one of those is a penetration, and flat roofs do not shed water the way a crowned roof does, so a marginal seal on a ProMaster leaks sooner than the same seal elsewhere.
- Front wheel drive unibody structure, measured to specification
- Large flat panels showing repair quality clearly
- Flat roof with multiple conversion penetrations
- Solar, fan, rack and antenna mount leaks
- Galvanic corrosion at steel fasteners into aluminum panels
- Conversion interiors documented before removal
Which ProMaster conversions do you see most?
Winnebago Travato and Solis, plus a very large number of professional and owner built conversions. The ProMaster is the most common owner build platform in this market by a wide margin.
Owner builds need the most documentation, because there is no assembly manual. We photograph and itemise before anything comes out.
- Winnebago Travato and Solis

Common Problems and How We Solve Them
My Travato has soft spots around the roof rack feet.
SolutionPenetration leaks into the roof panel. We remove the mounts, establish the extent of the damage, repair the structure and re bed the mounts properly rather than adding sealant on top.
A panel repair on my ProMaster shows a wave in the sun.
SolutionLarge flat panels are unforgiving. Correct repair works the metal back to plane rather than filling, and it gets checked in reflected light before refinish.
My owner built conversion needs to come out for a structural repair.
SolutionWe photograph and itemise everything before removal, because on a one off build that record is the only way to put it back correctly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you repair ProMaster camper conversions?
Yes, including Winnebago Travato and Solis, professional builds and owner builds. Owner builds get the most documentation because there is no assembly manual.
Why do ProMaster roofs leak?
The roof is flat, which does not shed water like a crowned roof, and conversions add many penetrations. A marginal seal leaks sooner on this platform than on others.
How much does ProMaster collision repair cost?
$1,500 to $50,000 and up depending on severity. Panel replacement $500 to $12,000, structural work $750 to $20,000 and up.
Why does my ProMaster corrode at the fasteners?
Galvanic corrosion where steel fasteners meet aluminum panels, accelerated by coastal air. Correct repair isolates the dissimilar metals rather than just cleaning it up.
Are you a RAM dealer?
