RV Insurance Claim Assessment in Yorba Linda
An insurance claim assessment documents damage in the detail a carrier estimate needs, at our Yorba Linda facility. This is where hidden damage gets found and where the supplement that funds a proper repair originates.
A carrier estimate is written from what is visible. On a laminated RV structure, most of what matters is not visible, which is why almost every real RV claim needs a supplement.
The assessment is where that gets established, and the quality of the documentation is what determines whether the supplement gets approved.
Why do RV claims almost always need a supplement?
Because a laminated sidewall transmits impact energy well beyond the visible damage. An impact that dents a two foot area frequently delaminates six feet of wall, and none of that is visible until the panel is opened.
A carrier estimate written on visible damage is therefore correct on what it can see and incomplete on what it cannot. That is not usually bad faith, it is a limitation of writing an estimate from outside a laminated structure, and a supplement is the mechanism designed to correct it.
- Impact energy transmitted well beyond the visible damage area
- Delamination extent only measurable by tap testing
- Structural movement only measurable against factory specification
- Hidden water intrusion at damaged seams
- Component damage behind panels not accessible from outside
- Prior unrelated damage identified and separated out
What makes documentation strong enough to get approved?
Photographs of every finding at the moment it is exposed, measurements against published factory specification, tap test mapping showing the actual extent of delamination, and each additional operation itemised with the labor hours it takes at a published rate.
Carriers approve supplements that are specific and verifiable and push back on supplements that are general. Our published labor rate card helps here, because a figure derived from a rate anyone can look up on a public website is much harder to dispute than one that is not.
Do you work with my carrier?
We work with all major carriers and handle claims daily. We are not a direct repair programme shop, which means our documented scope is written for the repair the vehicle needs rather than to a carrier volume agreement.
That occasionally means a longer approval conversation. It also means the scope you get is the scope the vehicle needs, and we will tell you honestly where a carrier position is reasonable and where it is not.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an insurance claim assessment cost?
An RV systems evaluation is $150 and diagnostic assessment is $285 per hour with a one hour minimum. Both are refundable as a credit against an authorized repair, and on an approved claim the assessment work is generally part of the repair scope.
Why does my claim need a supplement?
Because a laminated structure hides most of the damage. An impact denting two feet frequently delaminates six, and none of it is visible until the panel is opened. Supplements exist to correct exactly that.
Do you work with my insurance company?
We work with all major carriers and handle claims daily. We are not a direct repair programme shop, so our scope is written for the repair the vehicle needs.
What makes a supplement get approved?
Specificity. Photographs at the moment of exposure, measurements against factory specification, and each operation itemised in hours at a publicly posted rate.
Will you tell me if the carrier is being reasonable?
Yes. Sometimes a carrier position is defensible and we will say so. Sometimes it is not, and the documentation is how that gets addressed.
