Flatbed Truck Body and Deck Repair
Flatbed work centres on the deck and its attachments rather than on enclosed panels. Deck deformation from overload, tie down and stake pocket failure, and headboard mounting fatigue are the recurring items, alongside conventional cab body repair.
A flatbed has no box to damage, so everything that goes wrong happens at the deck, the attachments or the cab. That makes for a shorter list and a more predictable one.
Almost all of it traces back to load, either magnitude or how it was secured.
What fails on a flatbed deck?
Deck deflection between crossmembers from concentrated point loads, which is what happens when heavy equipment sits on a small footprint rather than spread. Then tie down and stake pocket failure from repeated chain and strap tension, and headboard mounting fatigue from load shift.
Wood decks rot at the fastener penetrations. Steel decks corrode where the coating was breached by chain contact. Aluminum decks crack at weld toes. All three fail at load concentration points rather than in open span.

On a repair caused by overload we will say so, because reinstating the original specification just resets the clock. Reinforcing for the load the vehicle actually carries is usually the right call.
