Because the paint is not a color, it is a design. Luxury coach schemes use three, four and sometimes five stage systems with pearls, candies and metallics, blended into flowing graphic sweeps that were masked by hand across a 45 foot body. There is no straight line to break a repair at and no factory formula that reproduces a hand blended fade.

Reproducing it requires spraying long panels in single uninterrupted passes, which is why our booths are 65 feet, heated and downdraft. A metallic sprayed in two sessions on a coach this size will band, and banding on a $700,000 vehicle is not an acceptable outcome.

Full paint refinish is published at $5,000 to $35,000 and up across 40 to 250 hours, and the top of that range is exactly this category. Color match blending on a partial repair runs $500 to $5,000 across 4 to 25 hours.

Solid surface countertops, real hardwood cabinetry, tile and stone flooring, leather upholstery, powered furniture, motorized shades and integrated control systems. None of it is modular and very little of it can be ordered as a replacement part.

Full interior remodel is published at $1,500 to $50,000 and up across 20 to 250 hours, and luxury coaches occupy the upper half of that band. Cabinetry repair, refacing and custom build runs $500 to $7,500. Furniture replacement including theater seating runs $750 to $8,500. Flooring including tile runs $750 to $9,500.

The practical constraint is matching. When a water event destroys a section of a hand built galley, the repair is a woodworking job that has to match a finish nobody stocks. We build to match rather than replacing the whole run, because replacing the run is how a $9,000 repair becomes a $40,000 one.

In our experience yes, and the difference is enormous. An actual cash value policy settles against a depreciated book figure that has almost no relationship to what a converted Prevost or a low mileage Newell is actually worth, and even less relationship to what it costs to repair one properly.

An agreed value policy fixes the number in advance based on documentation and appraisal. That matters at total loss determination and it matters on large partial losses, because the repair cost on a hand painted coach can approach a book value that was never accurate to begin with.

We support that with documentation. On any luxury coach that comes through we photograph the paint scheme in full length daylight, record the interior finishes, and provide a written repair cost figure the owner can put in front of an adjuster or an appraiser.
