What is different about an extended wheelbase van?

The subtler issue is mid body flex. A longer span between axles with the same shell section means more deflection under load, and over time that shows up as cracked seam sealer, a sliding door that stops aligning, and stress at the B pillar area.
How does that change the repair?
Measurement across the full length rather than around the damage. On a long van a small angular error at one end produces a large dimensional error at the other, so datum points along the whole vehicle get checked rather than just the ones near the impact.
Correction sequence also matters more, because a long shell has more places for a masked deformation to hide behind the primary one.
