What do these vehicles actually need?
Storage that survives transit, which is a mounting problem rather than a shelving problem. Anything not secured properly becomes a projectile under braking, and drawers that were not designed for road load fail within a year.
Power adequate to the actual draw. Groomers run dryers, salons run heat, workshops run compressors and tools. Undersized 12V systems and inverters are the single most common fit out mistake we correct.

What goes wrong most often on a fit out?
Undersized electrical, by a wide margin. An owner specifies a system for what the equipment draws nominally rather than at startup, and it browns out the first time two things run together.
Second is storage mounted into panel rather than into structure. It holds in the driveway and fails on the road, and when it fails it usually takes the panel with it.

How do I size the electrical system properly?

Will my fit out be covered on an insurance claim?
Only if scheduled. Itemise it with values and send it to your agent. On a service vehicle the fit out is often most of the asset value.
Can you repair a fit out somebody else installed badly?
Yes, and we will tell you what we find. Storage mounted into panel rather than structure is the usual issue, and correcting it means finding real attachment points.
