Low-Roof Van Repair in Yorba Linda
Low roof vans are the most straightforward van repair we do. They avoid the roof strike damage that dominates high cube work, and their structural behaviour is closer to a conventional passenger vehicle. Damage is typically side, corner and rear.
It is worth stating plainly that low roof vans are the easy ones. No height clearance problem, a stiffer shell because the roof span is shorter, and damage that behaves predictably.
What they do get is side, corner and rear damage from working in tight spaces.
What typically needs repairing?
Side sliding door area, rear corners, rockers and lower panels. The pattern of a vehicle worked in loading bays and urban streets rather than one that hits overhead obstructions.
These are conventional repairs. Panel work, sectioning where required at factory locations, and refinish with a blend into adjacent panels.
- Sliding door area and track damage
- Rear corner and door damage from reversing
- Rocker panel and lower body from kerbs
- Front fascia from low speed contact
- Mirror and marker strikes in tight access
Do they still need ADAS recalibration?
If the vehicle is equipped, yes, and most current models are. Roof height has nothing to do with it. What matters is whether radar, cameras or ultrasonic sensors are mounted to structure that moved.
On a low roof van with front radar and a windshield camera, a front impact repair carries the same recalibration requirement as it would on any other platform.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are low roof vans cheaper to repair?
Generally, yes, for equivalent damage. They avoid roof structural work entirely and their shell is stiffer, so correction is often simpler. The same $1,500 to $40,000 band applies but jobs cluster lower in it.
Do you fit out low roof vans?
Yes. Shelving, bulkheads, liners and electrical work all apply. Cargo shelving runs $750 to $7,500 at 4 to 30 labor hours.
Is ADAS recalibration still needed?
Yes where the vehicle is equipped. Roof height is irrelevant. What matters is whether sensors are mounted to structure that was corrected.
Can a low roof be converted to high roof?
High top roof conversion is possible on some platforms and it is significant structural work rather than a bolt on. We would assess the specific vehicle before quoting.
