Repair for Fleet Operators and Managers
Fleet managers need three things a retail customer does not: staged scheduling that protects operating capacity, per unit costing that maps to how the fleet is budgeted, and lead times reliable enough to plan a rotation around. Everything else is secondary.
The worst thing a body shop can do to a fleet manager is be optimistic. A date that slips wrecks a rotation plan that took a week to build.
Predictable beats fast, every time, and that is how we schedule fleet work.
How does staged scheduling actually work?
We agree a maximum number of units down at once before anything starts, based on what you need running. Then work runs in batches sized to that constraint, with each unit returning to service as it completes rather than being held until the batch finishes.
On a six unit refinish that typically means two at a time over five weeks rather than six at a time over two. Total elapsed time is longer. Operating capacity never drops below four. For most fleets that trade is obvious.
What costing information can you provide?
Per unit estimates against posted labor rates, itemised by operation, so the figure maps to whatever cost centre structure you use. Every unit is invoiced separately for PO tracking.
Because our rates and labor hours are published, the estimate is also auditable. A fleet manager defending a repair spend internally can point at a rate card rather than at a shop assertion.
- Per unit itemised estimates against posted rates
- Separate invoicing per unit for PO tracking
- Published rates and hours, so figures are auditable internally
- Agreed maximum units down at once before work starts
- Rolling return to service rather than batch hold
Frequently Asked Questions
How many of our units can you take at once?
Capacity is 50 to 150 repairs and 20 major collisions per month, so the limiting factor is usually your operating requirement rather than our space. We agree the maximum down at once with you.
Can you give us fixed lead times?
Realistic ranges rather than fixed dates, and we would rather under promise. Parts lead time is the variable neither of us controls.
Do you offer fleet pricing?
Posted rates apply. Where a bundle genuinely shares labor, such as refinish plus graphics plus DOT marking, the bundled figure is lower and the arithmetic is published.
Who is our point of contact?
One estimator across the whole fleet programme, so you are not re explaining the operating constraint every time a unit comes in.
